Tish Eisenhuth is a 2024 YSU alumni with a Master of Science in Education with a focus on Special Education; Autism and Related Disabilities and was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi. Tish shares the release of a special education advocacy book she wrote (with the Foreword written by Dr. Temple Grandin). She hopes it might be a resource to pass on, even for aspiring special educators who will work with families in their future careers.

Rosalynda is a two-time graduate of YSU, first earning her bachelor’s degree in social work in 2022, and returning to earn her Master of Social Work in 2024. Rosalynda currently works with Aspire Mental Health and serves as the Region 4 Director and Board Member for the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), Ohio Chapter. She was recently honored for her outstanding service to NASW Ohio, reflecting her ongoing engagement in advancing social work values and advocacy across the state.

Faith earned her bachelor’s degree in social work in 2022. She is currently working as a caseworker at Mahoning County Children’s Services and is completing her master’s degree in social work at Ohio State. She was recently recognized as an emerging leader for her innovation and commitment to the profession by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), Ohio Chapter.

William Clark is a 2020 graduate of Youngstown State University, earning his bachelor’s in communications before returning to earn his Masters focusing in Counseling and Mental Health. William was recently appointed to the Ohio Statewide Independent Living Council by Governor Mike Dewine.
Ivan Bosnjak is a 2023 graduate of Youngstown State University, earning his bachelor’s in information technology with a focus in cyber security alongside a bachelor’s in marketing, By merging technical skills with commercial strategy, Ivan and his team engineered and patented the Astro 360 Leash. This innovative dual retractable leash, designed to prevent tangling, is set for its official market launch this March.

Jamie is a 2019 graduate of Youngstown State University, earning her bachelor’s in Political Science before continuing on to earn her JD at Cleveland State in 2022. Jamie L. Rasor has joined the Frantz Ward LLP firm’s Litigation Practice Group as an Associate. Jamie works with clients throughout all aspects of litigation, arbitration, mediation, and settlement conferences. She leverages her experience litigating first- and third-party matters to support clients in finding actionable solutions to complex issues.


Dr. Jon Dean is a postdoctoral fellow conducting functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI)-based trials on novel pain treatments at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He co-founded UCSD’s Center for Psychedelic Research and holds a Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in Chemistry from Youngstown State University.
Dr. Dean’s thesis discovered biosynthesis of the psychedelic N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT) in the living rat brain at levels akin serotonin and the role of the prefrontal cortex in consciousness. His clinical work at UCSD was the first to show the neural effects of psilocybin for phantom limb pain relief. His National Institutes of Health-sponsored research demonstrated the neuropharmacological mechanisms underlying mindfulness meditation-induced chronic low back relief and sex-based differences in analgesia.
YSU alumna Melanie J. Diorio (B.S. in Education; B.A. in Italian) graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2011. She earned her MA in Holocaust & Genocide Studies from Stockton University in 2023; she is a member of the North Carolina Council on the Holocaust and earned a Certificate in Holocaust Pedagogy through Queens University. She has been teaching high school English in North Carolina for more than 15 years. Melanie was recently named English Department Chair at her school in Wake County. Beyond the classroom, Melanie is a YSU Alumni Ambassador and serves as the Triangle Alumni Chapter Leader. She currently holds TEFL certification and is looking forward to pursuing international teaching opportunities. Melanie is a member of Mensa and the National Council of Teachers of English. In her spare time, she loves to travel and spend time with her two mini dachshunds.


Dr. Jaelyn Farris has been recognized with the Community Impact Award from the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber for her leadership and service in the Mahoning Valley. Dr. Farris, a part-time psychology faculty member and grant evaluator at YSU, was honored for her efforts to connect research in psychology, neuroscience, and education to real-world learning practices. She implements this work at Flying Trees Academy, a private school in Boardman that she founded in 2021. FTA utilizes a cutting-edge educational method that Dr. Farris developed through her scholarly work. The method relies on using evidence-based approaches to support self regulation, classroom engagement, and critical thinking to promote 21st century academic success for students in kindergarten through seventh grade.
Jill is a 1993 graduate of Youngstown State University, earning her bachelor’s in fashion merchandising and interiors. Jill was recently appointed Chief Client Officer at Marcus Thomas. With more than two decades of experience guiding large-scale, integrated marketing efforts at the agency, she was appointed senior vice president, interim director of client service in 2025 before being named chief client officer. Jill previously managed the agency’s Health & Wellness practice, leading client Dexcom’s growth from a million-dollar company to a billion-dollar global leader over the course of its 10-year relationship with the agency and overseeing the longstanding success of the award-winning Akron Children’s account for nearly two decades.


Mark Wilson inducted into the 2025 San Jose Sports Hall of Fame. San Jose’s rich Minor League history had no greater exemplar than Mark Wilson. During his 38 years with the team including 30 as General Manager, the team won six California League championships, developed more than 190 Major League players and most importantly created lifetime memories for generations of fans at San Jose Municipal Stadium. A Youngstown, Ohio native Wilson joined the team in 1984 and was twice named Cal League Executive of the Year. In 2021, the team retired jersey #38 as a tribute Mark’s time with the club. Wilson was inducted into the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame in November, 2025.

Dr. Bankston has dedicated a career of five decades to helping others through leadership and advocacy.
